My Journey

I’ve always been fascinated with the human experience.

From studying journalism and writing human interest stories; to curating events that cultivate beauty and connection; to using therapy as a way of exploring what felt chaotic and mysterious within me and my relationships.

I know what it feels like to present as ‘whole’ while feeling internally fractured. To believe my emotions and opinions are too much. To find safety in ‘fitting in’ and over-performing. To swallow my own truth in order to keep the peace.

Therapy offered me a space to slow down and connect to what felt true. It helped me heal relational wounds that had been directing my life, and open up to new ways of relating to myself, my loved ones, and the wider world.

These days, what I consider life accomplishments are very different from what I imagined as a child - seeing the sunrise from an ancient temple in Bagan; studying yoga and building a community centered around ritual and rest; growing an organic garden; having three years of memories from summers spent in Alaska; learning to stay in one place and grow roots; learning to feel safe in my own skin… I may not always ‘fit in’, but I know deeply that I belong.

i believe in this work because i believe in the ripple effect of healing.

As an organic farmer, I experienced this through tending land and planting seeds that nourished entire ecosystems. As a therapist, I’ve witnessed how tending to one person’s inner landscape can heal relationships and touch communities far beyond the therapy room.

The truth I live by is that we belong to each other. While our culture is so focused on individualism, I believe that our healing will come from remembering how to be in relationship - with one another and the natural world around us. We need each other, and the world needs us.

Handwritten note on lined paper in a spiral notebook, describing experiences with a company called Backroads, hiking and cycling trips in Alaska and Vermont, and enjoying exploring the world on two wheels.

By the Way…

A woman sitting in a green armchair, affectionately interacting with a dog, inside a cozy living room with a bookshelf and a bed in the background.
A torn piece of white lined paper with handwritten text that reads, "I am my silliest self when I am with my dog, dog. We have lengthy conversations, and make up many songs about mundane tasks."
Woman in red shirt and beige overalls holding a large head of green cabbage outdoors.
A sprig of green plant with multiple serrated leaves against a transparent background, attached to a small piece of white paper or tape.
A handwritten note on graph paper that reads: 'For three years I worked on organic farms, which was yet another catalyst for my healing journey. I now love tending to my community garden plot.'.
